Wine dinners at Port Wine Day
05 Sep. 2017Organized by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto, I.P., since 2014, the Port Wine Day aims to be a worldwide celebration of Port.
As from the 1st of September, the best producers of Port wine, will organize this event that takes place between Douro, Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia and Matosinhos, promoting exclusive tastings of rare wines and masterclasses, bringing together the spirit of Port wine to the city and its inhabitants.
On the 7th September, in a partnership between the main Port Wine Companies and the city restaurants, wine dinners will be promoted with a special menu, fully inspired and combined with Port Wine.
Ramos Pinto has chosen Oficina in the context of these celebrations, with the perfect pairing created by Chef Marco Gomes.

Journalist and José Saramago Foundation president, Pilar del Rio was the guest of honor of OFICINA seventh thematic dinner, held last 18th of July.
The menu based on telluric flavors, suggested by the guest, call for a gathering of stories, convictions and memories, making the connection between gastronomy and art, the main purpose of Oficina.

Telluric Flavors with Pilar del Rio
12 Jul. 2017Pilar del Rio, journalist had come to Lisbon to do “Ricardo Reis Circuit”. The coffee taken with José Saramago and a new meeting at Seville months later, changed both lives.
They married in October 1988 … a late partnership that lasted a lifetime!
At the age of 63, “when nothing is expected”, he found “what was missing in order to have everything” — Pilar, in @Público
Guardian of the legacy of José Saramago, presiding from the beginnings its Foundation, inspires the 7th Oficina thematic dinner, which will be held on July 18th.
The flavors of the earth, in an exclusively vegetarian menu suggested by the guest and prepared by Chef Marco Gomes, call for a meeting of stories, convictions and mainly inspirations and memories, making the connection between gastronomy and art, the main purpose of Oficina.
This space of multiple meetings and gatherings was attended by Pedro Cabrita Reis, Conductor António Vitorino de Almeida, Architect Souto Moura, the researcher Sobrinho Simões, Bento Amaral and portuguese writer Mário Claúdio. Limited inscriptions to 20 seats and prior appointment is required until 14th July.

Gastronomic pearls, with Mário Cláudio
05 Jun. 2017The sixth OFICINA thematic dinner guest will be Mário Cláudio, Portuguese writer, poet and essayist, born in Porto, with a law degree from the University of Coimbra and a “Master of Arts” from the University of London. His dense and complex writing often of historical or biographical background, are characterized by a great imaginative richness. The menu prepared by Chef Marco Gomes, with oysters as main protagonists, promises to unveil memories of this writer and establish the link between art and gastronomy appealing to the senses!
This space of multiple meetings and gatherings was attended by Pedro Cabrita Reis, conductor António Vitorino de Almeida, architect Souto Moura, the researcher Sobrinho Simões and Bento Amaral.
The 6th OFICINA thematic dinner will be moderated by the journalist Valdemar Cruz and promises good gastronomic and literary moments, with prior marking limited seats.

Bento Amaral inspires the fifth thematic dinner at Oficina Restaurant
14 May. 2017Bento Amaral, Technical and Certification Director at Douro and Port Wine Institute (IVDP), inspires the fifth thematic dinner at Oficina Restaurant, on May 3.
The menu, where the dishes of the sea stood out, followed the gastronomic and wine preferences of the guest, who besides being an oenologist, is also a professor at the Catholic University.
Its remarkable course was one of the topics versed in the dialogue generated among the guests, and which is the hallmark of this initiative. The sea-flavored menu by Chef Marco Gomes was the starting point for socializing and sharing, ideas that support this OFICINA initiative.
